A Savannah-wide scavenger hunt
Welcome. You found one of our posters.
Now put your phone down — after this, I mean.
no data collection · no tricks
On your way to the first stop, look around. Really look. We'll ask you to share what you noticed — but only if you want to. Here are some examples:
A sound you'd normally tune out — birds, water, footsteps on brick.
Something growing where you wouldn't expect it — moss, flowers, a tree root.
A person doing something quietly interesting — reading, sketching, eating alone.
Remember them. They'll be important later — but that's not a requirement. Just an invitation.
Enter your three observations below. A volunteer will hand you your map once you're done — whether you share your observations or not.
p.s. your responses will not be used for data collection. do we have permission to use your responses to personalize suggestions? that's what the above choice is for.
the ai is working purely from what you told it.
no outside sources. no profiles. just you.
you won't need me until the end of this experience, so feel free to put me back in your pocket. reach for me again at the finish line!
no personalization — just the good stuff everyone should notice.
The fountain at the center
Built in 1989, the Orleans Square fountain is one of Savannah's quieter landmarks. Sit near it for five minutes and notice how the sound changes depending on where you stand. Most people photograph it. Few actually listen to it.
The Spanish moss in the live oaks
Spanish moss isn't a parasite — it's an air plant that takes nothing from the tree. It collects moisture from the air. Look for how it moves differently from the leaves when the wind picks up. It's one of the few things in Savannah that hasn't changed in 200 years.
The Cherokee Rose along the borders
The official state flower of Georgia. White petals, yellow center. It blooms in spring and tends to appear in the quieter corners of Savannah's squares. If you noticed flowers on your way here and didn't know what they were — there's a good chance it was these.
now put your phone down. your blanket, camera, and a food truck are waiting.
